$71,900.00/yr - $122,600.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Valley Bank Overview The Senior Training Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality learning content to associates across the organization. This role requires a mature, reliable, and experienced trainer with a strong background in banking and classroom facilitation. The ideal candidate is a thought partner in content creation and refinement, spending 75–80% of their time in virtual or physical classrooms. Key Responsibilities Deliver foundational retail banking and credit training programs Facilitate sessions including a 10-week credit program, nCino and Salesforce training, and credit awareness Teach financial concepts such as balance sheets and income statements Collaborate with business units to develop and refine training content Apply adult learning principles and manage classroom dynamics Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements Support LMS administration and e-learning content deployment Lead medium to large projects as assigned Day-to-Day Activities Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions Observe and assess training delivery and outcomes Prepare for upcoming sessions and contribute to team initiatives Coach and support associates Travel locally to training sites in Morristown, Totowa, Wayne, and occasionally NYC Join a 15+ person L&D team known for its analytical, methodical, and professional approach. The team values collaboration, consistency, and continuous improvement. Preferred Requirements: Experience in banking and/or training Strong classroom management and facilitation skills Familiarity with retail and commercial credit Experience in content creation and curriculum development Understanding of cognitive overload and adult learning techniques Professional presence and ability to connect with a mature audience Preferred Qualifications Formal credit training or certifications Experience across all lines of business in a bank Desire to grow within the organization and take on additional responsibilities Required Experience: Required: High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years of experience in stand-up training. Bachelor's degree in HR, Education or a related field, experience in a bank or financial services organization preferred.
