Position Summary All teaching faculty members shall prepare and teach college-approved courses in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules, including developing syllabi and reading lists, keeping courses up-to-date, and responding to multiple constituencies. Perform departmental responsibilities in the selection of texts and related teaching resources; carry out other teaching and related duties as outlined on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Responsibilities
Teach a range of courses in the discipline area, teaching thirty (30) credit hours per academic year across lecture, hybrid, and/or online formats.
Develop syllabi, reading lists, and evaluate student learning; provide academic advising and student support.
Plan and execute program-related events; assist with program reviews; develop curriculum and periodically evaluate teaching materials.
Attend workshops and conferences to maintain currency in profession and field.
Participate in convocation and commencement ceremonies; serve on assigned committees, task forces, and meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, finance or a related discipline.
Proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students.
Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
Strong information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years of teaching-related college-level courses (24+ credits).
Experience teaching Introduction to Finance, International Finance, Fundamentals of Investment, Money and Banking.
Experience using technology to enhance the learning environment, e.g., Blackboard, online instruction or other modalities/software.
Salary and Benefits Minimum Salary: $65,708 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits. Salary based on qualifications.
Benefits include generous leave policies; several retirement plans; many choices for comprehensive health insurance. Tuition reimbursement may apply if applicable.
