Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using the POS system, including making correct changes, placing merchandise in a bag, providing a receipt, and ensuring top-notch guest service. Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards loyalty programs. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed, ensuring alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates and document performance in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training for associates prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, and safety practices. Schedule store shifts to ensure adequate coverage; supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage time off requests, and verify accurate pay for time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure equipment is in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and shipments daily. Protect company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices; communicate concerns to the Store Manager. Support sales, profit, and shrinkage goals and complete required administrative duties. Conduct stock counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Count and reconcile daily transactions; manage cash, closeouts, and bank deposits as required. Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; report discrepancies to the Store Manager/District Manager. Process defective/recalls and stock pulls promptly; label boxes with correct packing lists. Maintain awareness of guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines. Assist in maintaining store records and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures as described in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Open and close procedures must be followed. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet objectives. Work independently and as part of a team to perform tasks; meet performance expectations. Operate POS system; basic math and organizational skills. Complete required paperwork properly and follow instructions. Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Handle pressure, solve problems, and maintain guest interactions. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work with good judgment. Ability to stand and move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs as needed. Pay $19.25 - $23.25 EEO
