Modern Technology Solutions, Inc.
RF and Electronic Warfare (EW) Test Analyst
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc., Upper Valley Trailer Court, Ohio, United States
MTSI is seeking an experienced
RF and Electronic Warfare (EW) Test Analyst
to support an advanced air platform program. This position focuses on system testing, performance analysis, and validation of Radio Frequency (RF) and Electronic Warfare (EW) systems within an
Integrated Product Team (IPT)
framework. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in signal testing, EW techniques, and system integration, supporting mission-critical requirements for cutting-edge defense technologies. Responsibilities
System Testing and Validation: Conduct functional, system-level, and performance testing of RF and EW-related technologies, including radar, communication systems, Electronic Countermeasures (ECM), and Electronic Counter-Countermeasures (ECCM). Develop test procedures, plans, and criteria aligning with program requirements and DoD standards. Validate interoperability and integration of RF/EW components within advanced air platform systems. Signal Analysis and Diagnostics: Analyze RF signals and EW performance in simulated and live testing environments. Use testing tools and techniques (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and hardware-in-the-loop simulation systems) to troubleshoot and resolve issues with RF/EW systems. Collaboration Within IPT Framework: Partner with systems engineers, software developers, and other IPT members to ensure RF/EW systems meet performance and functionality requirements. Facilitate cross-functional coordination, ensuring seamless integration of RF/EW systems with avionics and mission software. Testing Tools and Data Reporting: Operate advanced test systems and tools to measure system performance and capture testing data. Create detailed test reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings to program stakeholders. Operational Readiness Testing: Support testing in laboratory settings, hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulations, and operational field environments. Verify air platform RF/EW systems' capabilities under real-world conditions, including electronic attack/defense scenarios and responses to radar threats. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure system testing adheres to DoD standards such as MIL-STD specifications, RMF, and cybersecurity best practices. Manage and document testing processes to ensure future sustainment and compliance. Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Signal Processing, or related technical field. 7+ years of experience working with RF and Electronic Warfare systems in integration or testing roles. Proficiency in RF/EW testing tools such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, and oscilloscope systems. Solid understanding of electromagnetic spectrum operations, RF signal propagation, and Electronic Warfare techniques. Experience analyzing radar signals, jamming systems, and RF/EW countermeasure technologies. Familiarity with testing environments such as hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) or software-in-the-loop (SWIL). Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI. Desired
12+ years of experience working with RF and Electronic Warfare systems in integration or testing roles. Certifications that demonstrate RF/EW expertise: Certified Electronic Warfare Specialist (CEWS), Certified RF Engineer - Microwave & RF Engineering specialization, Certified Test and Evaluation Professional (CTEP), Radar System Proficiency Certification, CMMC-related certifications. Familiarity with defense mission systems such as radar warning receivers (RWR), communications systems, and threat detection technologies. Experience with defense program frameworks, such as MIL-STD protocols or DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF). Working knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, or other RF/EW simulation tools. Strong collaboration and communication skills within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) framework.
