Job Title:Postdoctoral Scholar Department:Nursing | College Administration The Postdoctoral Scholar position will work with the mentor, Dr. Susie Breitenstein, with a focus on intervention and behavior of child, family, and parents and community engaged research. In particular, the scholar will focus on work related to research designed to support parenting and improve child outcomes. The scholar will also train with the research team for two funded NIH grants on which Dr. Breitenstein is a principal investigator and develop skills specific to the conduct of large intervention studies. Finally, they will have opportunities to analyze existing data, to author and co-author manuscripts, and to gain exposure to and mentorship on grant writing. Conceptualize, develop and execute an individualized training plan in family-focused research. Conduct research training coursework and research activities, which may include investigator-initiated pilot studies that are aligned with mentorship, ensuring consistency with established methodological approaches and models, adherence to project timelines, and completeness of documentation; Participate in data collection, management, and analysis related to Mentor projects; Write and publish articles in peer-reviewed journals that highlight findings from completed and on-going research ensuring consistency with the highest standards of academic publication; Communicate with Mentor about progress and results of research activities and relevant related information in a timely manner; Develop collaborative links and good communication skills with other members on the research team to gain exposure and build knowledge of research activities and approaches, in order to subsequently improve conceptual development and implementation of individual projects. Participate in training as determined in collaboration with mentor. Complete required Responsible Conduct of Research in-person training as well as all other required trainings for the conduct of research at the university. This is a 12-24mo position that is first shift with occasional evening and weekend hours. Required Qualification: Ph.D. in Nursing or a related field (e.g., psychology, social work) by the start date Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative behavioral health sciences research Desired Qualifications (we encourage you to apply even if your experience does not perfectly match desired qualifications) Experience conducting research focused on parents and children Experience in intervention and/or implementation research Experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals Additional Information: Location:Heminger Hall (1069) Position Type:Term (Fixed Term) Scheduled Hours:40
