Environmental Scientist

in Louisville, KY. This role is embedded at an automotive facility, offering onsite work within a leading manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate combines manufacturing experience with environmental consulting expertise, contributing to field investigation projects and supporting a dynamic, growing organization. Responsibilities
Assist with SPCC inspections, stormwater inspections, tank inspections, collect and track air permit data, work with onsite suppliers, and perform other intermittent tasks as determined by the plant environmental manager. Conduct geophysical surveys, collect environmental samples (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air/vapor), and perform site exploration and geologic logging using various drilling techniques. Produce clear and accurate documentation of field conditions and ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards. Who You Are / Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or related life sciences field. 3–5 years of experience as an environmental scientist and completing environmental surveys, fieldwork, habitat and impact assessments, and/or construction monitoring. Analytical skills with experience in research techniques, local/regional ecology and habitats, and applicable species; knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping. Capable interpersonal and communication skills for effectively presenting to scientific and non-scientific audiences. Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment; ability to learn new techniques, work independently, and comply with company policies. Moderate proficiency with business writing, MS Office, technology, and tools. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to interpret testing results and data to accomplish project objectives. Proven commitment to workplace safety and the ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek and occasional travel as required by projects. Preferred Qualifications
40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred. Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired. About WSP
