in Louisville, KY. This role is embedded at an automotive facility, offering onsite work within a leading manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of manufacturing experience and environmental consulting expertise to contribute to field investigation projects and support a dynamic, growing organization. This position supports SPCC inspections, stormwater inspections, tank inspections, collecting and tracking air permit data, working with onsite suppliers, and other tasks as determined by the plant environmental manager. Additional duties may include conducting geophysical surveys, collecting environmental samples (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air/vapor), and performing site exploration and geologic logging using various drilling techniques. You will produce clear and accurate documentation of field conditions and ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards. Your Impact Provides technical assistance and guidance for the collection, identification, and compilation of observational and spatial data at a large manufacturing facility. Supports environmental work and permitting projects. Assists with the development of processes and infrastructure related to water, air emissions, pollution control, and environmental quality protection. Generates accurate documentation, assesses project areas, and applies environmental science to solve environmental challenges. Ensures responsibilities are delivered with quality meeting or exceeding industry standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related life sciences field. 3 to 5 years of experience as an environmental scientist with environmental surveys, fieldwork, habitat and impact assessments, and/or construction monitoring. Analytical skills with experience in research techniques, local/regional ecology and habitats, and applicable species. Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. Interpersonal and communication skills for scientific and non-scientific audiences. Detail-oriented, results-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks, follow instructions, work independently, and comply with company policies. Moderate proficiency with office software and technology. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to interpret testing results and data. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies. Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek and occasional travel as required. Preferred Qualifications 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred. Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired. About WSP
