About the Role

The Production Geologist will be responsible for supporting subsurface evaluation for growth options, leading static model studies and updates for production and well data, monitoring well drilling operations and reporting, supporting growth well planning activities, and preparation / participation in joint venture technical workshops and technical compliance meetings (TCMs). This is a full-time position reporting to the OBO subsurface manager role within international operations. Duties & Responsibilities

Lead efforts on static modelling studies/updates, including collaboration with reservoir/production engineers for efficient incorporation of early time learnings from production data. Support subsurface evaluation and technical maturation of growth options including infill wells for future drilling campaigns. Support operator well planning including contingencies as specified in the KFA. Monitor real time well operations and prepare post well summary packs for management. Maintain static subsurface database (fault/completion/OBMI logs/well tops/geomodel etc.) to ensure it is current. Responsible for geological prognosis (pre-drill vs post-drill) for wells in drilling program, coordination of data acquisition plan with the team and real-time monitoring of well execution. Collaborate with project subsurface team to capture field learnings and post-drill geological data analysis and integration. Design tools and geologic work plans based on key value drivers to inform optimization and future development decisions. Prepare for and participate in joint venture technical meetings and engagements. Support resource estimation work with reservoir engineering. Skills & Experience

Strong geological background with experience in static modelling, volumetric calculation, and subsurface uncertainty management. Minimum degree qualification in Geoscience (Geology or Geophysics). 9+ years’ experience in geology roles within the upstream oil and gas industry. Ability to integrate multi-disciplinary subsurface data (well log, seismic, core, pressure, etc.) from well, field to basin scales to constrain key reservoir uncertainties. Experience in basic seismic interpretation and understanding of how quantitative seismic data informs static geological model conditioning. Working experience with projects from discovery to late production is preferred. Proven ability to apply static modelling skills in complex depositional settings. Strong interpersonal, collaboration and engagement skills; able to integrate information across disciplines. Effective communicator, able to present clear and concise summaries to internal and external stakeholders. Acts with a sense of urgency to achieve high-quality results within set timeframes. Proven problem-solving skills, ability to manage change and deal with uncertainty/ambiguity. Effective risk management skills and commercial awareness. What We Offer
