Youth Autism Support Counselor ! Responsibilities
As a Support Counselor, you will work one-on-one with youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to help them grow in socialization, communication, and daily living skills. You’ll work directly in participants\' homes and communities—creating safe, fun, and engaging environments where they can thrive. Build positive, trusting relationships with youth and their families Support participants in reaching individualized treatment goals Assist with personal care (e.g., toileting, bathing, dressing) as needed Plan age-appropriate and community-based activities Promote self-esteem and independence Communicate effectively with participants, families, and team members Attend team meetings and training sessions Document participant progress using web-based software Be a reliable, consistent presence in a child’s routine Qualifications
Compassion and commitment to helping others Minimum of 100 hours’ experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, specifically autism High School diploma (Bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation or related field a plus!) Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (no more than 3 points) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely Minimum age: 18 years old Why Join The League?
