Humanities Adjunct position at the University of Central Oklahoma (Inside Higher Ed posting). Teach sections of General Humanities HUM 2113 Ancient to Medieval and/or General Humanities HUM 2223 Renaissance to Modern. Courses are interdisciplinary and cover human culture (art, literature, music, religion, philosophy) and the formal aesthetic qualities of artistic media. Instructors may teach in-person and online; online teaching requires a formal training course through the University Center for eLearning and Connected Environments (CeCE), which can be taken after hiring. Adjuncts for both in-person and online courses must be residents of the state of Oklahoma. Qualifications/Experience Required
Possesses at least a master’s degree in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Qualifications/Experience Preferred
Experience teaching humanities topics at the college level. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Teaches, advises and mentors students; evaluates student performance; maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the university’s educational philosophy, mission, and long-term goals; works collaboratively with colleagues; participates in faculty-related university meetings. Adheres to all policies and procedures in the UCO Faculty and Employee Handbooks. Physical Demands
