Our Lamar office in Des Moines, Iowa is hiring a new Sales Account Executive (salary + commission) to bring innovative outdoor advertising campaigns to life for brands in Urbandale, IA and the surrounding areas. We’re looking for someone who understands the connection between marketing and sales and genuinely gets excited with each sale, big or small. Responsibilities
Meet and exceed sales objectives in the assigned territory by developing long-term advertising relationships that grow Lamar advertising sales and community connections. Target businesses in the area, visit established Lamar clients and competitors’ clients within a specified timeframe. Use Lamar computer tools to locate prospects, follow up on leads, prepare proposals and written presentations, and research. Develop presentation skills and present to clients on a regular basis; stay current with product knowledge and selling skills. Participate in sales meetings, regional meetings, seminars, and trade shows; perform administrative duties as needed. Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sales plans; follow up on client production orders and problem-solve issues; keep organized client and activity records. Qualifications
Comfort making cold calls over the phone and in person. Ability to make oral presentations and clearly articulate policies and procedures. Align with values of inclusivity and communicate effectively with diverse backgrounds. Motivation to learn new technology and systems; strong time management and self-organization. Willingness to immerse yourself in the outdoor advertising industry to sell its benefits. Professional written and verbal communication; ability to meet a sales quota and use general sales techniques. Intrinsic self-motivation, resilience in response to rejection, and ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads. Current and valid driver’s license required; college degree preferred; previous outdoor advertising sales experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience preferred. Compensation and Benefits
Monday–Friday schedule with paid holidays; mix of in-office and field work. First-year earnings potential of $60,000–$75,000 including commissions (dependent on experience and selling ability). No commission cap; commission-based pay with an annual base salary of $26,050; monthly auto and cell allowances for work-related expenses.
