Key Account Manager – Air Force Collaborate with Innovative 3Mers Around the World

In this role you will utilize key account management skills calling on the MRO sustainment command for the United States Air Force and Army.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

Determine directions, priorities and assign resources with full accountability for results of functional area.

Responsible for managing sales targets for assigned customers/area(s)/product line(s).

Identify and define market/product opportunities to meet sales and growth objectives.

Drive growth of 3M solutions at some of the Nation’s largest military depots and repair facilities.

Own, leverage and cultivate senior level relationships at assigned accounts to identify business needs/drivers and position 3M solutions for growth.

Build and execute channel engagement plans that leverage existing government contracts and market trends (e.g., use of small, disadvantaged businesses).

Lead 3M Team members at assigned accounts to foster and drive collaboration in the attainment of assigned forecast.

Create, maintain, and execute pipeline of opportunities and engagements to realize the key sales targets and metrics.

Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and three (3) years of account sales experience in a commercial, government, or military environment.

OR

Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and five (5) years of military experience.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Three (3) years of key account sales experience in a government or military environment.

Strategic management of product distribution companies.

Working cross‑functionally within a complex matrix organization.

Experience working as a government employee.

Skills include managing through CRM tools, selling skills, and C‑Suite sales.

Location & Travel

Work location: Remote in Sales Territory.

Travel: May include up to 50% domestic travel.

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized.

Compensation & Benefits Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $164,612 – $201,193, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
