Rental Sales Representative Job Description Sign-on Bonus:

We are currently offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new hires, payable as follows: $2,500 after 90 days of employment, and $2,500 after 180 days.

Company Overview:

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., is hiring a Rental Sales Representative in Beltsville, Maryland.

Role Responsibilities:

Promote Caterpillar equipment and Allied product rentals.

Manage rental of all products assigned to the Division's rent-to-rent fleet to customers and markets in accordance with company policies.

Develop objectives, set priorities, and implement strategies independently.

Understand construction phases, project conditions, and suggest appropriate products.

Build and maintain strong customer relationships and ensure excellent customer satisfaction.

Service existing customers and prospect for new business.

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Operate equipment for demonstrations and handle towing as needed.

Travel frequently, including overnight stays.

Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.

Physical and Other Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift and maneuver items up to 20 pounds, and perform physical tasks related to heavy equipment. Vision and mobility requirements as specified.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting salary: $24,000 annually plus monthly commissions based on product sales/rentals.
