The primary focus of the position is project work for the development of engineering studies, design reports, construction documents, and construction oversight/administration related to water and wastewater infrastructure in the municipal and industrial markets in Texas and across the country. Responsibilities
Will work under the mentorship and guidance of Senior Engineers Provide basic engineering services in support of planning, studies, analysis, and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems, which may include pump/lift stations, groundwater wells, storage reservoirs, and treatment systems Prepare plans for water distribution and wastewater collection systems, write specifications, analysis and study-level reports, determine appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection, under instruction from the Project Engineer Setup and perform hydraulic modeling for water and wastewater systems Work with CAD designers to prepare plans/drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure systems using industry-standard design platforms, such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, OpenRoads Designer, etc. Ability to use CAD software is considered a plus Check design computations and quantity estimates Assist in client contacts pertaining to specific projects Limited field work and regional travel to project sites may be required Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited program in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering Engineer in Training Certification or the ability to get certification within 6 months of hiring 0 to 1+ years related and relevant experience Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously. Advanced spreadsheet skills a plus Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience Must be team-oriented, hardworking, and intent on doing great work Responsible for engineering quality and project team success Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites Must pass background check Preferred Qualifications
Experience utilizing engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, etc. Experience utilizing standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline About WSP
