Senior Accountant

Vaco Orange County is a leading provider of accounting and finance consulting services. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Lake Forest, CA. Job Responsibilities: Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports Performing monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and allocations Update standard costs annually (or as needed) in collaboration with Engineering, Customer Service, and Production; validate standard costs, analyze manufacturing variances and job profitability, and recommend adjustments to enhance financial accuracy Supporting the consolidation process for multiple entities and intercompany transactions Maintain and reconcile metal inventory records and prepare monthly reports Prepare and assist in review of monthly balance sheet and income statement variance analysis Maintaining and updating the general ledger and chart of accounts Ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls Manage quarterly forecast and annual budgeting process for G&A Prepare monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations Review portfolio financial statements; analyze and write variance comments for significant financial variances Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations Assist with complex special projects, including preparing various analysis schedule & ad hoc requests Job Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in accounting or financerequired 5 years accounting experience in Manufacturing required CPA or CPA candidate is a plus Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Experience with Epicor preferred Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel: writing formulas, pivot table, and power query (Preferred) Ability to work on a temp-to-permanent basis
