AdventHealth Tampa specializes in advanced cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience and neurology, digestive health, orthopedics, women’s services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and general surgery including minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures. Role Description

The CVOR First Assistant provides a highly technical & knowledge based skill-set to assist the surgeon to carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. The CVOR First Assistant prepares and maintains the surgical area, provides scrubbing duties and delivers first assistant intraoperative technical functions to the physician during procedures. Responsibilities

Confirms what procedure(s) will be completed. Determines specific equipment needed per surgical procedure. Reviews case load and studies and prepares for pending surgical procedures. Participates in Universal Protocol steps including the “time out.” Assists in moving and positioning the patient. Performs operative shave prep, scrub, or other patient care tasks as assigned by the RN. Qualifications
