Summary
Assistant Controller to join the growing corporate finance division at Computer Generated Solutions (CGS) based at the New York headquarters in Brookfield Place. The ideal candidate has 2‑3 years experience in a CPA firm and 2‑3 years in a private/public company, and will support the Chief Accounting Officer with closing activities and the Controller with revenue recognition/project profitability.
Responsibilities
Provide support to the Controller and other members of the finance team.
Hands‑on with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
Assist in managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.
Help in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Assist in ensuring compliance with internal control policies and procedures.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with financial audits.
Help in developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
Proven experience as an Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or in a similar role, with strong focus on month‑end/year‑end close processes.
In‑depth knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting procedures.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Detail‑oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Experience with financial reporting and financial analysis.
Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
Salary Range $100,000 – $130,000
