Overview

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is seeking a Controller to lead accounting and business operations under the Chief Financial Officer. The Controller provides direction and leadership for YMCA accounting and business operations, oversees accounting practices, maintains fiscal records, prepares financial reports, ensures strong internal controls, coordinates the annual external audit and budget, and collaborates with the CFO and leadership on analysis and financial projections. Responsibilities

Recruits, hires, trains, supervises and evaluates accounting personnel. Develops, prepares and provides workpapers to outside auditors during yearly financial audit; provides audited financial reports as needed. Manages and assists with preparation of the annual budget and quarterly estimates. Ensures timely, accurate preparation of monthly journal entries, financial statements, bank reconciliations, and GL account reconciliations. Analyzes and maintains records on all association transactions and analyzes financial statements. Develops, coordinates, and maintains the association chart of accounts to include new accounts, PCS codes, branches and/or centers. Develops and implements accounting policies and internal controls. Develops and implements new accounting-related initiatives. Designs and implements practices, processes, and procedures for strong fiscal management. Maintains an accounting system to record and report all operations, transactions, assets, and liabilities for all funds. Maintains records and prepares various internal and external reports, including reports for federal and state agencies. Assists in the preparation of the IRS Form 990 tax return. Coordinates and supervises operating cash flow management. Assists CFO with projects and other duties as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent; CPA preferred or working towards designation. Five+ years of supervisory accounting experience; nonprofit experience preferred. Knowledge of internal controls; proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced spreadsheet skills and accounting software. Strong communication, interpersonal, research and organizational skills; strong business acumen. Ability to work as a team, relate positively to employees, and meet deadlines and reporting requirements. Ability to think critically and problem-solve at a high level. Leadership Competencies

The YMCA offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $93,000 and will be commensurate with the selected candidate's experience. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance; long-term disability; medical and dependent care reimbursement; employee assistance plan; free family membership; program discounts; eligibility to enroll in a 403(b) tax-deferred account at beginning of employment; and a 12% retirement contribution paid by the YMCA upon meeting eligibility requirements.
