Job Description As part of the Accounting Department, you will evaluate project contracts, identify risk and exposure, and communicate findings to the organization.
Responsibilities
Analyze project documents and develop reports for heavy civil construction projects.
Write accruals and deferrals and share information with project managers and Finance.
Verify that quantities claimed match the owner's estimate.
Deeply analyze budgets and job costs, provide Project Managers with items left behind budget and risk areas.
Review, audit, and suggest improvements during the bi‑annual Budget Revision cycle.
Prepare financial reports from multiple data points for management and external parties.
Assist in development of regular periodic budgets.
Create, review, share, and respond to periodic reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
Generate ad‑hoc payroll reports on request.
Log and report information using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Maintain an organized work area, filing system, email inbox, and to‑do list ensuring timely completion.
Prioritize and manage multiple work projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
High proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
Ability to calculate figures, apply basic algebra and geometry, and understand construction math concepts.
Effective communication in English, verbally and written.
