Job Description
Responsible for identifying problems, needs, and opportunities for improvement and helping the organization achieve its goals. This includes working with project stakeholders and business people to communicate the business vision for projects, mapping out initial requirements and the scope of the project. Additionally, responsible for modeling and designing new systems that implement the goals of the organization. Key responsibilities include: Analyzing business processes, procedures, organization structure, etc. to identify problems and determine solutions. Solving operational and business process problems and refining the business model. Determining how to improve existing business processes and automating tasks. Designing the features of IT systems and creating functional specifications. Implementing new features of the IT system. Interacting with business organization representatives to understand the business process and needs. Gathering business requirements from identified project stakeholders and identifying potential solutions. Translating business requirements into functional requirements. Creating functional specifications for new systems that solve given business problems. Presenting solutions to business stakeholders and facilitating the iterative refinement of system requirements. Working with the development team to ensure functional specifications are unambiguous. Creating test scenarios to verify the system. Helping scope projects and writing use cases and system/technical specifications. Documenting solutions and creating documents and diagrams of the new system. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include: Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Computer Science, Communications or a related field, plus three years of experience as a business analyst or closely related experience in the analysis of information technology organizations and systems. Experience in K-12 Education. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining computer information systems. Thorough knowledge of processes, methods, and techniques utilized to analyze and evaluate business operations. Thorough knowledge of personal computer, Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project. Knowledge of programming concepts and the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Fluent language skills and written communication ability. Outstanding analytical skills to interpret business processes and translate into application and operational requirements. Ability to create workable solutions to business problems. Ability to make decisions and manage projects. Ability to serve as a liaison between developers and users, clients and companies, and management and IT. Additional Information
