Overview
Manager - Global Transaction Analytics at Alvarez & Marsal (A&M). A&M's Global Transaction Analytics (GTA) practice provides data analytics services to support M&A, divestment, and investment strategies across the transaction lifecycle for private equity and corporate clients. The GTA team leverages leading technology and analytics, combined with A&M’s operational, functional, and industry expertise, to drive actionable business insights.
How You Will Contribute As a Manager in the GTA practice, you will work with a motivated team on projects across industries including manufacturing, distribution, consumer, retail, restaurants, business and industrial services, healthcare, software and technology, energy, and financial services. You will help clients achieve data-enabled business, financial, and operational transparency during pre-acquisition due diligence or post-acquisition performance improvement projects.
Responsibilities
Lead numerous client engagements
Effectively manage day-to-day client interaction and relationships
Proactively contribute to business development opportunities
Manage and prioritize team responsibilities and consult with senior members of the team as appropriate across multiple deals
Work cohesively and collaboratively across stakeholders
Counsel and mentor junior members of the team and continue to develop the team’s technical acumen
Proactively recruit, train, and develop junior staff members, including teaching training classes as applicable
Qualifications
A minimum of 5+ years of experience in data analytics or transaction services
Buy-side/vendor due diligence experience across industries preferred
Understanding of M&A / PE investment lifecycle preferred
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Statistics, Information Systems or a related field
Understanding of data extraction, manipulation, analytics and visualization approaches
Strong technical background with hands-on data analytics experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, relational databases/SQL querying, Alteryx, business intelligence/visualization (Tableau preferred), big data and machine learning concepts
Ability to leverage business intelligence software
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear yet concise manner
Exceptional project management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Flexibility to work as both a team member in a collaborative setting and as an individual contributor
Ability to thrive and be effective in fast-paced settings
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary is $160,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography
A discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance; details available from your recruiter
