Job Description:

The Relationship Banker will serve as the single point of contact for customers. This role is responsible for connecting with customers to understand and match their needs with First United Bank products and services, and for mentoring employees to do the same. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and the ability to establish and cultivate strong personal connections. The individual must be committed to precision and adhering to policies and regulatory standards related to the role.

Essential Duties:

Maintain a basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and relevant regulatory issues (including Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy, Fair Lending, Regulation E, deposits, transactions and loans).

Follow proper procedures for all customer-servicing activities with accuracy and efficiency.

Retain existing customers and develop new relationships. Serve as the single point of contact for customers on all First United Bank products and services.

Meet and exceed performance goals; participate in sales campaigns; promote and educate customers and peers about products and services.

Participate in meetings, bank functions, and customer appreciation/community events as requested by supervisor.

Provide excellent customer service to build rapport and generate customer loyalty.

Identify customer needs and match them with appropriate products; refer to other staff or departments as needed.

Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other products; handle paperwork and data entry.

Assist customers with routine questions and requests (balance inquiries, statements, stop payments, online banking, ACH, transfers, direct deposits, wires, notary, etc.).

Process a variety of transactions accurately and in compliance with bank policies; maintain drawer limits and perform cash vault duties as required.

Verify transactions, manage holds, and balance cash drawer; resolve discrepancies and escalate as needed.

Proactively resolve customer complaints or issues; review and resolve account issues; assist with repayment plans as necessary.

Perform security functions related to opening/closing bank and vault, ensuring safety of premises.

Master the Primary Purpose and Essential Duties of the Relationship Banker I position.

Employee Specifications:

High School Diploma strongly preferred; some college is strongly preferred.

One year of retail experience is preferred.

Cash handling experience is preferred.

Superior customer service skills required.

Basic mathematics and accuracy in daily work.

Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.

Time management and ability to work independently without close supervision.

Good judgment and decision-making skills; critical thinking and problem solving.

Ability to multi-task and maintain a professional attitude and appearance.

Ethical behavior in and out of the workplace; active listening and customer-focused mindset.
