Zurich Direct Markets BU is seeking a Market Facing Account Underwriter (Level II or III) for our Finance and Insurance (F&I) Underwriting team located in Overland Park, Kansas. This role offers a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week (Mon-Wed). The level (II or III) will be determined by the hiring manager based on the selected applicant’s experience and qualifications. Purpose

Analyze and underwrite new and existing F&I business to support the portfolio’s long-term growth and profitability while delivering excellent service to our customers and the sales organization. Contribute to Zurich’s financial objectives and reputation for reliability and forward-thinking solutions. Job Accountabilities

Make sound underwriting decisions within assigned authority, ensuring profitability and customer retention. Analyze and underwrite new and existing F&I business at the account level, independently under general direction and within delegated authority. Qualify accounts to meet the organization 0s underwriting appetite. Calculate target pricing using underwriting tools and models. Understand and analyze risk; negotiate pricing and other terms with the sales organization to close the deal. Service accounts, handle declinations/cancellations; review Dealer Product Questionnaires with key Sales personnel for accurate setup and growth opportunities. Update and maintain key applications with rating and pricing variables; ensure accurate onboarding with internal teams; maintain documentation of underwriting activities. Support the sales culture as a key contact for assigned territory; provide technical advice to enable Sales and customers to solve problems or improve business. Anticipate customer needs, monitor trends, and propose changes; proactively manage a portfolio to support retention. Apply rating tools/methodologies to deliver to customers and suggest improvements; prepare and review contracts; calculate settlement offers. Occasional business travel and extended hours during peak periods; maintain regular attendance including team days (Mon-Wed). Business Accountabilities

Develop and maintain relationships with the Sales organization to support proposals, acquisition, retention, and profitability. Data querying and reporting to support internal and customer requests; analyze underwriting profitability and identify trends. Lead and facilitate periodic account reviews for assigned territory; participate in team initiatives and meetings. Additional Job Functions

Assess complex customer cases and apply technical techniques to recommend solutions; build relationships and advise on account development. Research primary data sources, analyze trends, and support operational decision making. Analyze risk data and market trends to support business growth and sustainability; monitor project work and ensure resource use and schedules are followed. Provide advisory services to colleagues, measuring exposure and ensuring appropriate coverage within risk/compliance processes. Qualifications

Underwriter II

High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in underwriting/market facing OR 6+ years in claims or underwriting support; or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (with Associate Degree) with related experience; knowledge of lines of business, regulatory guidelines, time restraints for quotes, and MS Office proficiency. Underwriter III

High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years in underwriting/market facing OR 10+ years in claims or underwriting support; Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (with Associate Degree) with related experience; MS Office proficiency; experience with timely quotes and team collaboration. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; professional designations (e.g., CPCU, ARe) is a plus; strong analytical and decision-making skills; sales execution mindset; creative problem-solving; proficiency in data querying/analysis; excellent communication and relationship-building; ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities; familiarity with underwriting systems and Microsoft Office; knowledge of F&I product offerings and marketing models. Compensation and Benefits

The combined salary range for this position is $75,000 - $165,000. Level II: $74,300 - $121,700 with 10% short-term incentive eligibility. Level III: $98,300 - $161,000 with 15% short-term incentive eligibility. Benefits and total rewards details are provided by Zurich and may vary by location and experience.
