Accountant/HR – Construction

seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to provide
accounting and contract support . This role is ideal for someone who thrives on multitasking, supporting project teams, and ensuring the
financial and contractual integrity
of ongoing construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as backup for
accounts payable
and
accounts receivable
processing.
Support
payroll processing
and
certified payroll reporting .
Reconcile
bank accounts ,
credit card statements , and
project cost reports .
Assist with
monthly/quarterly financial reporting
and
job cost analysis .
Support
tax preparation
and coordinate with external accountants.
Compliance & Documentation
Manage
lien waivers ,
releases , and
project closeout documentation .
Ensure proper retention and
electronic filing
of accounting and project records.
Maintain compliance with
tax ,
workers’ compensation , and
insurance audit
requirements.
Track
vendor and subcontractor insurance certificates
and
license renewals .
Payroll & HR
Process
bi-monthly payroll
for field and office employees
Maintain employee records, PTO logs, and digital personnel files
Refine and maintain the
company employee handbook
and HR policy documentation
Assist with onboarding, new hire setup, and benefits enrollment
Manage employee health insurance and assist with compliance for GL, Builder’s Risk, and Work Comp policies
Track certifications, safety documentation, and compliance paperwork
Manage and maintain annual employee performance reviews and background checks for potential new hires
Update and improve existing policies across all departments
Ensure adherence to
Texas labor laws
and company policies
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in
construction accounting and HR
(preferably with a general contractor).
Strong knowledge of
AIA billing ,
lien waiver processes , and
cost coding .
Proficiency in
QuickBooks
and
Microsoft Excel .
Experience with
payroll ,
taxes , and
financial reporting .
Excellent
organizational
and
communication
skills.
