Business Financial Planning & Risk Analyst Provide in depth business analysis for a broad range of financial and business issues. Promote sound business decisions in budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting, and risk management. Monitor compliance with Energy Northwest policies and ensure sound financial controls. Respond proactively to budgetary and financial challenges while addressing business needs.

Ideal Candidate Strong technical accounting expertise with deep understanding of cost accounting methodologies and ability to apply them to real-world scenarios. Extensive experience with advanced Excel, Workday Financials, and Adaptive Planning. Excellent written and verbal communication, detail-oriented, and able to present complex financial information to diverse audiences. Ability to develop, coordinate, and execute financial controls, especially budgeting, and proactively identify risks.

Principal Accountabilities

Lead the development, coordination, tracking, and execution of corporate budget development and budget change management, staffing control, and senior management financial reporting.

Develop and monitor organizational cost performance vs. budget, analyze variances and cost trends, and recommend corrective actions. Provide monthly financial summaries to supported managers and projects.

Recommend corrective action to recover cost and schedule to established baselines.

Maintain, improve, and monitor the Columbia Station (CGS) Long-range Plan (LRP).

Ensure key risks related to activities have been identified and compensating internal controls are in place.

Understand change management process and collaborate proactively with internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrate leadership in team initiatives or projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Understanding of GAAP.

Strong presentation and communication skills with ability to engage senior leaders.

Ability to work effectively as team member or leader and set priorities.

10 years (or equivalent) of industrial-level experience in financial/accounting/budgeting, preferably within a large company or profit center.

Education Business Financial Planning & Risk Analyst IV: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 10 years of experience (or equivalent AA and 12 years; or high school diploma and 14 years). Business Financial Planning & Risk Analyst III: Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience (or equivalent AA and 9 years; or high school diploma and 11 years).

Compensation Business Financial Planning & Risk Analyst IV: $122,681 - $184,021 (midpoint $153,351). Business Financial Planning & Risk Analyst III: $106,670 - $160,006 (midpoint $133,338). Typically selected candidates hired between minimum and midpoint.
