Overview The Transaction Manager oversees the end-to-end mortgage loan acquisition process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely execution. The role manages the acquisition pipeline, resolves aged production issues, responds to diligence requests, and drives continuous improvement in systems and processes. The manager also supports client training and builds strong relationships across internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities Manage Mortgage Transactions: Oversee multiple acquisitions, ensuring timely execution within cost constraints. Handle due diligence (DD), transaction milestones, settlement approval and document retention. Transaction Coordination: Develop timelines, collaborate with stakeholders, manage bulk transactions, and address workflow exceptions. Legal and Diligence Oversight: Work with legal on trade-specific contracts and serve as a liaison for reliance letter diligence across multiple TPRs. Data Accuracy & Reconciliation: Capture, review, and reconcile data from DD, custodians, and client submissions, addressing inconsistencies or discrepancies. Reporting & Training: Create tailored client reports, define diligence workflows, and train new clients on underwriting standards and system navigation. Communication & Issue Resolution: Provide trade updates, coordinate with acquisitions, legal and capital markets, and address post-purchase concerns. Product & Credit Knowledge: Maintain deep understanding of credit guidelines, transaction processes, and exception criteria to analyze collateral and resolve credit-related concerns. Customer Support & Problem Solving: Provide responsive, solution-oriented support to clients; troubleshoot issues and deliver resolutions aligned with company and customer objectives. Process Improvement & Compliance: Drive operational enhancements, support compliance and IT initiatives, and ensure alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Securitization & Whole Loan Sale Support: Partner with the securitization and whole loan sale team to ensure smooth execution of trades, proper documentation flow, and timely resolution of transaction-related issues.
Education and Experience 5+ years in mortgage, investment banking, accounting, finance, or servicing. Strong understanding of origination, loan acquisition, pricing, securitization, whole loan sales, servicing, mortgage documents, and credit underwriting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong capabilities in business analysis, negotiation, and cross-functional communication. Familiarity with state and federal compliance requirements. Self-starter who manages multiple tasks independently and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
