Account Manager – Verus Mortgage Capital

Job Summary The Account Manager plays a key role in supporting Verus’ Non‑QM and Jumbo products, serving as the primary point of contact for a dedicated group of internal and external partners. In this role, you’ll provide program and system expertise, guide partners through the loan process, and ensure pipelines move smoothly from application to purchase.
Responsibilities
Primary point of contact for the client after loan submission.
Ensure loan application and required documentation are complete, accurate, and properly set up in the system.
Obtain documentation needed for initial and final loan approval.
Follow up on outstanding conditions in a timely manner to ensure proper clear‑to‑close timing.
Manage and input the Estimated Closing Date to prioritize the loan throughout the process.
Validate initial, conditional, and final submission packages for the underwriter.
Maintain all communication with clients within required SLA.
Perform weekly pipeline calls with sales and the client.
Secure condition sign‑off authority for no‑income, asset, or property related conditions.
Meet and maintain SLA on initial file review and condition review or negotiate prioritization based on other loans.
Convert and organize loan documentation within systems.
Send all status documents and declinations to the client.
Work closely with Account Executive, Underwriter, and Acquisition Purchase Auditor throughout the process.
Manage multiple loan files and cases to ensure each loan closes on its required closing date.
Maintain working knowledge of loan programs and applicable guidelines.
Provide exceptional customer service to customers, operations staff, and all third parties.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by manager or senior management.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of mortgage processing experience.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel).
Knowledge of current regulatory compliance requirements.
Organized, analytical, detail‑oriented, and self‑motivated.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Confidentiality and quality orientation.
Self‑management and ability to meet business needs with minimal direction.
Professional presentation and interaction with all levels of organization.
Compliance with Verus policies and procedures.
Alignment with Verus culture and teamwork principles.
