Our client, a well-established leader in the construction industry, is seeking a skilled
Project Accountant
to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a project-driven environment, enjoys working with both financial data and operational teams, and brings a strong background in construction accounting. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and administer monthly requisitions and payment applications in line with contract requirements.
Generate invoices and maintain change order logs.
Monitor assigned projects, resolve open issues, and ensure timely communication with stakeholders.
Compile and distribute
cash management and forecasting reports
for senior leadership.
Organize and maintain billing job folders for accuracy and accessibility.
Conduct
job cost analysis
and evaluate profit/loss on assigned projects.
Partner with project management teams on billings, change orders, back charges, close-outs, and project financial performance.
Manage customer interactions regarding collections, approvals, and billing-related matters.
Prepare and review necessary waivers, tax certificates, Certified Payroll, insurance documents, and M/WBE reports.
Provide accounting support to the Director of Project Accounting, Controller, and CFO as needed.
Participate actively as a team member, taking accountability for all project-related accounting activities.
Qualifications
5+ years of accounting experience
(construction industry preferred).
Experience with
Viewpoint by Vista ERP
software highly preferred.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
(formulas, formatting) and Office applications.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to prioritize effectively in a
fast-paced, multi-project environment
with minimal supervision.
Must be able to report onsite to the
NYC office at least once per month .
