Responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Also has a role in providing compliance and business services to a number of clients and developing client management and lodgement / deadline management skills.

Responsibilities
Compile and analyse financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly, quarterly and annual BAS’s and income tax returns Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities Provide matters for consideration for review by Managers/Directors Agree all workflow deadlines before commencing work and ensure these deadlines are met Complete all workpaper files before providing for review Check taxation and other correspondence before submitting to Managers/Directors Research taxation matters and communicate findings with Managers/Directors Delegate and supervise appropriate work to Intermediates/Graduates. Assist in preparing advisory based services to clients Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Australian Public Practice is preferred, demonstrated equivalent commercial experience may be considered. Bachelor Degree in a relevant subject Thorough knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles Knowledge of applicable business and tax laws, codes and regulations Demonstrated attention to Detail Proven ability to work to deadlines Confident communication (verbal and written) and ability to engage Supervisory skills Good judgement, problem-solving and analytical skills Decision Making and Delegating Authority
Seniors are encouraged to work independently within the scope of their role and make decisions to complete work on a reliable basis. Key issues and decisions need to be included for review as Matters for Consideration including suggested options for discussion with clients Direct client contact and general advice is expected. All other advice must be approved by a Manager/Director Reporting to
Senior Accountant reports directly to Managers, or Directors as applicable for individual jobs
