MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance, or business administration.

Four (4) years of professional or nonprofessional accounting experience.

Graduates utilizing education attained in the United States to meet the minimum requirements of a position will not be appointed until verification of the applicable degree has been obtained. Foreign trained graduates utilizing a degree attained outside of the United States to meet the minimum requirements of a position must be prepared to provide a copy of a credential evaluation conducted by an Approved Credential Evaluation Agency. JOB DUTIES Perform and apply accounting techniques such as pre-audit of invoice payments. Research accounting standards and Florida Statutes to ensure department transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Florida Statutes 215.422 and the Reference Guide for State Expenditures. Serve as approver/accountant for the department’s Purchasing Card Program "WORKS" by auditing, approving, and processing charges. Monitor and analyze workflow, comptroller returns, negative balances, batch error reports, and other items for the P-Card section within the General Audit Section. Audit and prepare journal vouchers for payment of department invoices. Prepare and analyze reports from P-Card WORKS daily. Assist with recording FLAIR encumbrances daily on contracts, office, and field purchase orders, ensure purchase orders/contracts are closed out timely, and perform monthly reconciliations. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
