We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven accountant to perform month-end close and portfolio accounting functions. This individual will be a key contributor, providing essential accounting support for both the corporate and property levels. The role is critical in maintaining the accuracy of financial reporting, assisting with cash management, and contributing to the financial performance of the investment portfolio. Responsibilities
Property-Level Accounting: Record and reconcile tenant income (rent payments, operating expense recoveries, and other lease-related revenue). Track and manage property operating expenses, taxes, and capital expenditures for commercial assets; calculate CAM charges, insurance, and leases. Support the preparation of property-level financial statements and required investor reporting packages. Track, prepare, and deliver tenant rental increase notices. Assist with sales reporting and compliance related to percentage rent clauses. Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and manage vendor invoicing. Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts for various entities. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and execute the month-end close process across property and fund-level entities. Financial Analysis & Reporting
Support budgeting, forecasting, and periodic variance analysis for corporate and property operations. Contribute to cash flow reporting, rent roll reconciliations, and tracking of portfolio performance metrics. Ensure accounting practices adhere to GAAP and internal controls. Assist with annual external audit, tax filings, and other external financial reporting requirements. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency. Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred 3–5 years of experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and real estate investment accounting Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi or similar accounting PM software is required Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities A collaborative and entrepreneurial work culture with direct visibility to senior leadership Seniority level
