This Opportunity: WSP is seeking a Risk Assessor - Ecological with at least 5 years of experience to support our Texas and Louisiana site investigation and remediation team, and our growing national risk assessment and toxicology practice. The role involves collaboration with project teams in project planning and execution, as well as public outreach and stakeholder communication. Risk assessments will be prepared to meet the requirements of federal, state, and local regulations including Texas and Louisiana regulations. The position will involve coordination and implementation of project work associated with multimedia (air, water, and soil) risk assessments and environmental regulatory compliance in the industrial/commercial and government sectors, as well as project management. The ideal candidate would work closely with our team in Texas and Louisiana while also being part of the larger initiatives within the company. Directs and supervises targeted technical assignments and manages project tasks or specific technical elements of projects. Performs as risk assessor authoring proposals and projects with review and direction from Senior and Principal risk assessors. Interacts with clients and regulators, particularly in scoping risk assessments and applying results to site decision-making. Provides technical review for projects to comply with environmental regulations, company standards, contract requirements, and related specifications. Occasional travel for projects, conferences, business development, or training. Who You Are

Required Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. in Toxicology, Biology, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health or related scientific discipline. 5+ years of post-education experience in conducting, authoring, directing, and reviewing multi-media environmental risk assessments with increasing project complexity. Progressive experience providing environmental consulting services to clients in industrial/commercial and government sectors. Knowledge of environmental risk assessment principles, procedures, and guidance; experience with scoping, managing, and conducting CERCLA process stages including work plan development, QAPPs, data evaluation, risk assessments, Feasibility Studies, and Records of Decision. Experience with risk communication to clients, stakeholders, and at conferences, presenting complex technical information clearly. Strong work ethic, self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead junior staff and work effectively within teams; commitment to workplace safety and compliance with health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies. Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek and occasional travel as required. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree preferred. Essential professional licensure/certification. 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred. Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired. About WSP
