At Regions, the Business Unit Compliance Function Manager operates as a first, second, or third line of defense risk management expert that advises on business and/or product decisions. The role may manage 1-2 analysts and typically reports to the Business Unit Compliance Group Manager, the Head of a Division or a specialized Group Manager over a line of business such as Credit Products or Commercial. Primary responsibilities
Directs compliance reviews and provides oversight of legal entities, business units, and processes Advises leadership on key business and/or product decisions Provides information to regulatory agencies and advises management on compliance issues Maintains expert knowledge of rules and regulations and their impact on products, services, and operations for a specific line of business Oversees the resolution of complex problems or transactions requiring interpretation against policies, guidelines, or processes Oversees a monitoring and testing program to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations Manages creation and delivery of training to the assigned business area to increase compliance awareness May supervise day-to-day work of other professional level compliance associates May contribute to workflow or process change and redesign, and risk and control identification The role is responsible for partnering with business leaders to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks in Retail Branch Operations and Retail networks. It ensures adherence to Regions Risk Framework expectations, including risk governance, risk assessment, findings management, control management, risk metrics, data quality, and other elements of the risk framework. It may also lead risk transformation priorities and greater use of automation to manage risk. The Consumer Bank-wide fraud and BSA/AML subject matter expert responsibilities are included, coordinating with internal partners to ensure a strong control environment. Requirements
Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of experience in compliance, quality assurance/control, audit, or other related compliance function specific to a line of business Preferences
Masters degree Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager Certification (CRCM) Skills and competencies
Ability to work independently Deadline driven Knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment related to compliance in a specific line of business Organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong communication skills Time management skills Additional preferences
