Tax Specialist
to join its elite finance team.
Position Overview:
This role will focus on tax compliance and reporting for both fund entities and family office clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in public accounting, deep knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, and hands-on experience with fund accounting. This is a high-visibility role offering exposure to complex tax structures and cross-border considerations, with the flexibility to work from either Stamford or NYC offices.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review tax filings for hedge fund entities and family office clients
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and tax disclosures under GAAP and IFRS
Support quarterly and annual tax reporting, including K-1s and partnership allocations
Collaborate with fund accounting and legal teams to ensure tax compliance across jurisdictions
Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on fund and client structures
Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure timely and accurate filings
Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the tax function
Provide tax support for investment transactions and structuring decisions
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience or peer firm experience, ideally with exposure to hedge funds or asset management
Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
Experience with fund accounting and partnership tax reporting
CPA preferred or in progress
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
