Role Overview As the
Founding Tax Analyst , you will translate complex federal and state tax law into accurate, executable models, ensuring our simulation stack produces insights that are legally sound, practically actionable, and optimized for HNWI clients. This hands‑on role involves writing natural language frameworks for tax calculations, designing evaluation logic for simulations, and collaborating closely with engineers to digitize tax rules.
General Responsibilities
Write natural language tax calculation logic and develop frameworks for simulation stacks that reflect real‑world HNWI scenarios.
Analyze 1040s and related forms to identify optimization opportunities, including equity compensation, AMT, trusts, estates, and multi‑entity portfolios.
Collaborate with engineers to digitize tax rules, ensuring accuracy and actionable outputs.
Apply AI and prompt engineering techniques to extract insights from tax documents and identify areas for optimization.
Serve as a subject matter expert on federal and state tax laws, guiding the team on interpretation and edge cases.
Research and implement strategies that are legally compliant, financially optimal, and practically implementable.
Required Skills & Experience
4–8 years of experience in tax preparation, advisory, or accounting with HNWI clients.
Deep understanding of AMT, equity compensation, and multi‑entity tax structures.
Ability to synthesize complex tax documents, identify opportunities, and translate them into clear, structured guidance that LLMs can follow.
Proven experience advising high‑net‑worth individuals, founders, high‑income employees, and executives on tax strategies.
Preferred / Bonus
CPA, tax attorney (LL.M. or masters in tax), or accounting/ legal background.
Familiarity with LLMs, AI, or prompt engineering in tax optimization.
Experience digitizing tax rules, building simulation logic, or automating advisory processes.
Impact

You will operate at the intersection of deep tax expertise, cutting‑edge AI, and software engineering to help HNWI clients navigate complex scenarios.
You will be the founding member of the Tax technical team, central to the product and vision.
Logistics
Location: Downtown, San Francisco, CA; Full‑time, On‑site.

Base salary: Minimum $200k + equity; full relocation support.
