Role overview: The Real Estate Tax Manager will apply broad tax knowledge to a wide range of tax areas and processes, devising strategic outcomes for complex issues. You will work in a collaborative environment with opportunities for career progression.

Your Key Responsibilities

Engage in diverse tax consulting and compliance projects for real estate clients and provide up-to-date tax guidance.

Collaborate with colleagues in a highly collaborative culture, sharing information and listening to others as part of the role.

Skills And Attributes For Success

Analyzing an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights.

Identifying potential opportunities and risks and communicating these to clients.

Learning and researching current market trends to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor.

Building client relationships and demonstrating knowledge of the real estate, hospitality and construction industry.

Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients' tax activities.

Researching clients' business operations and building long-lasting relationships to tailor advice to their needs.

Supervising a team of professionals to ensure skill development and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.

CPA required, or eligibility as a member of a state bar; CPA required for advancement.

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge in real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, REITs taxation, allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, and structuring.

Experience managing budgets, people, and projects.

Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.

Ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects.

Strong influencing skills and willingness to challenge processes.

Willingness to travel as needed; hybrid work environment.

What We Offer You

Comprehensive compensation and benefits package with salary ranges based on geography, experience, and performance. Base salary ranges: US-wide from $116,200 to $212,900; NYC Metro, Washington State, and California ranges from $139,400 to $242,000. Total Rewards include medical/dental coverage, pension and 401(k), and paid time off.

Hybrid work model with most external client-serving roles expected to work in person 40-60% of the time.
