Overview
Billing/Eligibility Analyst I (Admin) at Native American Connections (NAC). Based in Phoenix, Arizona, NAC is a nonprofit organization delivering affordable housing, behavioral health, and community development services. The role focuses on assessing funding sources for clients, ensuring documentation is received and accurately recorded, and supporting the revenue cycle under supervision of the Revenue Cycle Accountant. Location: Admin, 3216 N 3rd St Phoenix AZ 85012. Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm. Responsibilities
Review enrollments for eligibility and process enrollments; verify client coverage in AHCCCS, Medicare, Behavioral Health Coverage, private insurance, or other funding. Submit and upload weekly 270-271 files from AHCCCS. Submit for non-title enrollments for SABG. Review new chart creations for accuracy and completeness. Analyze and review client claims prior to submission and coordinate corrections with writers or supervisors as needed. Ensure residential and medical services have authorizations in place. Review all prior authorizations received and attach to services for billing. Coordinate with clinical staff on extended stays and ensure CCRs are submitted timely. Submit completed claims to clearing houses (837p); upload returning 277 files and submit corrections; upload 835 files. Analyze and monitor denied claims; make adjustments for resubmissions or prepare for write-off. Create invoices and send to Tribal payor sources; post payments when received in the EHR. Reconcile invoices with balance sheet reports and resolve discrepancies. Ensure efficient claim processing using required software and systems for accurate data entry. Attend meetings as required and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements
High School or GED required. AA degree in related field preferred. Knowledge of eligibility, billing, benefits, enrollment in a behavioral health setting; minimum of 2 years related experience. Experience with Arizona Medicaid MCOs, RHBAs, and TRBHAs eligibility. Experience in AHCCCS enrollment and benefit verification processes. Knowledge of HIMS/AXIOM or other EHR software preferred. Detail-oriented, able to multi-task and meet deadlines. Experience with Native American population preferred. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel. Strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills. Able to interact professionally with others. NATIVE AMERICAN PREFERENCE:
