Position Summary The CT/X-Ray Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures including Computed Tomography (CT) and general radiographic exams in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. The technologist ensures high-quality images while maintaining patient comfort and safety, following all regulatory and departmental standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform CT and X-ray imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders.
Verify patient identification and obtain relevant medical history prior to procedures.
Position patients and select appropriate technical factors to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
Operate and maintain imaging equipment in a safe and effective manner.
Adhere to radiation safety protocols and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
Prepare and administer contrast media as required, following safety and allergy protocols.
Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and completeness before submission to radiologists.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the PACS/RIS systems.
Provide excellent patient care and maintain a professional, compassionate demeanor.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
Participate in continuing education and maintain current certifications and licensure.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licensure/Certification:
ARRT (R) certification required. ARRT (CT) preferred or must be obtained within 6–12 months of hire. State Radiologic Technologist License (if applicable). Current BLS certification required.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience in diagnostic radiology; CT experience preferred.
