What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): - Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to hospital inpatient accounts using Epic, 3M Encoder, and Dolbey Computer Assisted Coding programs - Collaborate with Coding leadership, Clinical Documentation Improvement specialists, and the Coding Quality team to ensure timely coding and account release - Resolve chart correction issues daily to maintain compliance with Coding Department goals - Train new employees and act as a preceptor for staff learning new skills - Communicate regularly with physicians and their office staff as well as the CDI team
What is Required (Qualifications): - High School Diploma or equivalent required - Technical/Vocational School completion required - Minimum of 2 years of work experience required - Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): - Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in coding and documentation - Familiarity with electronic health record systems and coding software - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
