Senior IT Engineer - Active Directory Administrator

Overview
NiSource is seeking a highly skilled, Active Directory Administrator to lead the design, administration, security, and optimization of our enterprise Windows Server and Active Directory environment. This role will have significant responsibility for management and maintenance of Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and VMware virtualization, as well as patch management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance—leveraging enterprise tools such as Qualys, Tanium, and BigFix. Responsibilities
Technical Support: Assist in the design, development, and implementation of solutions for assigned technical product and/or platform. Create appropriate unit, integration, and automated acceptance tests for features based on requirements. Develop products or platforms that fulfill requirements, are readable, maintainable, testable, and performant using common development lifecycle techniques. Create highly dependable products or platforms, accounting for monitoring, logging, metrics gathering, system health, and reporting. Identify, diagnose, and solve issues in a production setting. Code/configuration review and quality assurance: participate in reviews and ensure solutions meet quality standards and best practices. Solution development: develop and implement solutions that enhance the functionality and performance of assigned products or platforms. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. 7+ years of experience with Windows Server and Active Directory administration, including Domain Controllers, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and PKI. 7+ years of experience with enterprise patching and vulnerability remediation using tools such as Qualys, Tanium, and/or BigFix. 5+ years of experience in a large enterprise environment. 5+ years of experience leading infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and security remediation projects. 5+ years of scripting/automation using PowerShell for patch deployment, vulnerability remediation, and system configuration tasks. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup strategies for both Windows Server and Active Directory environments. Strong documentation and mentoring skills to train junior administrators and maintain accurate system and process records. Disclaimer
