Overview

Lead Systems & Database Administrator – Onsite - Norco, CA Lead two experienced and security-cleared Database Administrator (DBA) and System Administrator (SysAdmin) leads to oversee and support critical infrastructure, systems administration and cybersecurity operations across our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a current and active Secret clearance and have proven experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other RDBMS platforms in

secure, high-availability environments . This role requires a strong leadership background in managing IT teams within federal, defense, or highly regulated environments. This role is pivotal in ensuring that IT systems are secure, resilient, and aligned with business and compliance objectives. This is a full-time onsite position in Norco, CA.

Some include adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Base pay range

$125,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily operations of IT staff, systems, and infrastructure

Ensure system availability, security, and optimal performance across enterprise platforms

Develop and implement IT strategies in alignment with organizational goals

Manage projects, budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships

Ensure compliance with DoD/Federal cybersecurity requirements, including NIST, RMF, and DISA STIGs

Oversee incident response, risk management, and business continuity planning

Collaborate with leadership, engineers, and security officers to align technology solutions with mission-critical operations

Provide mentorship and performance guidance to IT personnel

Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency

Implement and enforce database security standards in compliance with federal and DoD policies

Support data migration, integration, and transformation efforts across environments

Troubleshoot issues and provide on-call support as necessary

Work closely with developers, system admins, and security personnel to support application and infrastructure needs

Basic Qualifications

Active Secret clearance (must be verifiable at time of application)

US Citizenship Required

If applicable: post-employment ethics letter required if employment with VSolvit is offered

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or System Administrator, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership capacity

Strong expertise in one or more RDBMS platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)

Experience with database security in DoD or federal environments

Knowledge of DISA STIGs, RMF, and other federal compliance standards

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or SQL scripting)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, ITIL, or PMP

Experience with cloud technologies (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)

Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and enterprise-scale IT transformation
