Crossroads Church is a growing multi-site, interdenominational church with sites in Ohio and Kentucky and plans to expand to additional cities. We also have an online presence serving thousands who aren’t located near a physical site. Our staff model follows the church in Revelation, with people of many nations, tribes, and tongues worshiping and working together. This role supports that mission by providing technical leadership for stage and lighting across Crossroads experiences.
Job Summary The Sites Stage and Lighting Leader oversees the work of Crossroads Site Stage and Lighting Directors and provides technical support for a wide range of projects and events—including rehearsals, live, virtual, and hybrid experiences. Responsibilities include equipment setup and maintenance, lighting production, theatrical set changes, and training staff and volunteers in the use of technical equipment. As the subject matter expert in lighting, this role defines best practices, trains technicians, and ensures consistent, high-quality technical execution across all Crossroads experiences. The Sites Stage and Lighting Leader collaborates closely with Producers, Worship Leaders, Volunteer Coordinators, and other teams to bring the Central Experience Team’s creative vision to life with technical excellence.
Job Specific Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Lead 1-on-1 meetings with Site Stage and Lighting Directors to provide guidance and support.
Conduct group and individual training sessions to develop technical skills.
Coach Stage and Lighting Directors toward continuous improvement in their craft.
Lead and contribute to production projects as needed.
Manage workload expectations and priorities for Site Stage and Lighting Directors.
Operate lighting and production equipment during rehearsals and run-throughs.
Troubleshoot technical systems to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Participate in regular production team meetings to align on goals and updates.
Ensure smooth technical transitions during services; identify and address areas for improvement.
Collaborate with Site Experience Teams to adapt and implement changes based on run-throughs and debriefs.
Train and mentor technical volunteers to support weekend and special event production.
Perform routine maintenance and updates on lighting systems, including hardware and software.
Support additional projects such as video shoots, recordings, student ministry events, and camps.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma and equivalent work experience
College Degree preferred
Skill Requirements
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks
Knowledge of Google web platform and willingness to learn other software tools as needed
Organized, disciplined with priorities, meticulous attention to detail
Extensive working knowledge of live lighting systems
Extensive experience in on & off-site troubleshooting and technical support for live production systems with a good ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Driven & independent worker with a high attention to detail and desire of excellence
Able to work independently without direct supervision
Performs effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints
Proficiency In Several Of The Following

Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk up to 5 miles, and perform duties that involve standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
Must be able to lift 25 to 50 lbs.
Scheduling/Travel Requirements
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends and other high-impact events at Crossroads.
