Overview

Quality Technician role at Valmet in Houston, TX. Responsible for analyzing production and quality trend data, developing sampling procedures, recording and reporting quality data, and conducting audits to determine the acceptability of quality process controls. Responsibilities

Perform quality inspection specific to work area and product type in the manufacturing process. Utilize the non-conformance reporting system for efficient non-conformance management. Document process/product non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions. Lead investigations of non-conformance reports using the 8D Problem Solving Methodology. Provide technical support for issues related to analytic products, solutions and production. Initiate actions to prevent recurrence of non-conformities related to products, processes, and the quality system. Track and prepare monthly reports for internal quality performance metrics. Participate in formulating quality standards, policies, programs, plans, procedures, and practices; coordinate with area supervisors and group leads to ensure efficient production and quality. Deploy and improve quality discipline and culture; share best practices across functional areas and locations. Drive continuous improvement in processes, products, and methods using tools such as DOE, Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing. Maintain and analyze Key Performance Indicators and Cost of Quality to identify recurring trends and drive improvements to reduce defects. Qualifications

5-7 years of experience in a quality-related position in a manufacturing environment. Associates or technical degree in Engineering or related field (preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering). Experience with multi meters, calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, pin gauges, and optical comparator. Experience with ERP software or similar business logistics applications. Experience with incoming inspection of parts. Experience with sheet metal and busbar fabrication (shearing, stamping, forming, welding, tapping, painting, and plating). Experience with electrical wiring standards, methods, and testing. Experience interacting with and improving suppliers in a practical manner. High proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to interpret technical part drawings and specifications. Experience in an ISO 9001 certified company. Ability to interpret electrical controls and distribution wiring schematics. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-driven approach. Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. We Offer
