Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and pragmatic Senior Counsel to provide strategic and operational legal support across our business. This role will be responsible for advising on a broad range of commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters, ensuring the company’s operations remain compliant while enabling growth and innovation.
The Senior Counsel will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, working cross-functionally with operations, finance, HR, and product teams to manage legal risk and support commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide practical legal advice and support to internal stakeholders on a wide variety of matters, including commercial contracts
Data protection, employment, and corporate governance
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with customers, suppliers, and partners
Advise on regulatory and compliance issues relevant to the company’s operations and jurisdictions
Support risk management and internal policy development, ensuring company policies align with legal and ethical standards
Collaborate with external counsel where required and manage associated budgets
Assist with corporate governance, including board documentation, filings, and subsidiary management
Support fundraising, M&A, or investment activity as required
Drive process improvement and legal operations initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency
Provide clear, business-oriented guidance that balances legal risk with commercial practicality
Qualifications
Qualified lawyer with 10+ years of post-qualification experience (ideally in-house or a mix of private practice and in-house)
Strong commercial acumen and ability to work effectively with non-legal stakeholders
Broad legal skillset, ideally spanning commercial contracts, corporate law, employment, and compliance
Excellent judgment, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with changing priorities
Proactive, hands-on, and able to operate independently with limited supervision
Preferred Experience
Experience in [insert relevant industry — e.g., tech, data analytics, energy, logistics, etc.]
Exposure to international legal issues or multi-jurisdictional operations
Experience building scalable legal frameworks or supporting rapid business growth
