Starting Salary Tech II

- $25.05/hr - $30.75/hr

Tech III

- $27.40/hr - $33.21/hr

Hours Monday - Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm; weekend and holiday rotations are required.

Job Responsibilities

Policy: Participate in the development, maintenance, and/or revision of policies, procedures, and/or manuals.

Lab Specific Duties: Tissue processing, embedding, microtomy (paraffin and frozen sections). May qualify for tissue grossing under CLIA. Advanced understanding of special histochemical stains and troubleshooting. Advanced knowledge of tissue identification and artifacts. Advanced experience with cytology preparations and staining. Experience with Immunohistochemistry and other advanced staining. Work collaboratively with others to achieve goals. Adapt personal style to complement others. Develop positive working relationships with peers and colleagues. Share knowledge and provide support for team members. Contribute to and promote a positive and professional work environment/atmosphere. May serve as a liaison within the division or organization.

Communication: Demonstrate effective communication skills. Develop and maintain efficient internal communication processes to support department activities. Communicate across departments regarding clinical, patient care, and material resources. Keep leadership and stakeholders informed of developments in a timely manner. Prioritize multiple requests for information. Assemble and distribute materials for project communications if necessary.

Compliance: Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements (e.g., JCAHO, HIPAA). Design and implement programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance. Track laws and regulations that affect policies and procedures. May prepare compliance reports and communicate results as necessary.

Equipment Maintenance: Assist with maintenance of equipment. Help manage inventory. Maintain a well-organized work environment. Troubleshoot and/or correct erroneous results or equipment problems. Provide safety/quality monitoring checks as assigned.

Job Qualifications Tech II

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field

0-2 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Tech III

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field

4+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Histology Tech (ASCP) Certification
