The Bernard and Audre Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice and its Sissy Farenthold Fund for Peace and Social Justice, housed at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, seeks applications for a Program Coordinator to oversee day-to-day operations and its programs for students, faculty, and community members. The Center operates as an interdisciplinary hub for social justice research, teaching, networking, and advocacy. The Sissy Farenthold Fund supports research, advocacy, and programming on peace, reproductive justice, and environmental justice in Texas and around the world. The Center and Fund convene workshops and public events, engage in research and report-writing, support faculty and student research, and coordinate internships and opportunities for UT students. The Program Coordinator will play a key administrative role within the Center and will interface with faculty, students, staff, and external partners. We welcome applications from individuals committed to human rights and social justice. Responsibilities
Coordinate the Center's programs, including conferences, speaker series, networking opportunities, meetings, and other events; handle room bookings, catering, accommodations, travel for outside speakers, supervise interns/volunteers, and liaise with co-sponsors and stakeholders.
Process financial documents, including vendor payments, student stipends and scholarships, travel authorizations and reimbursements, and purchase orders.
Coordinate application and selection processes for student internships, scholarships, grants, writing prizes, and fellowships.
Provide course and other administrative support for the law school faculty co-director.
Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least three years of coordinating or administering a program. Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple projects with high accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications
Experience working at UT Austin or in a legal, advocacy, nonprofit, or academic setting. Graduate degree. Salary Range
$50,000+ depending on qualifications Working Conditions
May work around standard office conditions. Keyboard use and manual dexterity. Lift and move standard office files and supplies. On-site work required with possible occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak periods. Hybrid flexibility may be considered after onboarding (six months). Required Materials
