Reporting to the Department Administrator, the Fiscal Officer serves as the point of contact for fiscal and procurement matters; maintains organized fiscal transaction records and files; resolves issues with suppliers and central officers; provides procurement, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis support for the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR) within the College of Medicine (COM) and Faculty Group Practice (FGP), which includes various funds (general, salary recovery, earnings, endowment, development, research, contract, academic enrichment, and state contract funds). It involves budget development, financial analysis, revenue/expense analysis, cost-reduction opportunities, variance analysis, reconciliations, fiscal projections, and data gathering for internal and external requests. The FO collaborates with PMR staff and COM Service Center to facilitate procurement, travel, and other financial transactions, ensures adherence to University policies, proposes improvements, and provides training in internal controls and compliance. The role also oversees physician credentialing and faculty promotion/tenure processes and managed care credentialing and re-credentialing. Responsibilities
Serve as the point of contact for fiscal and procurement matters for PMR. Maintain organized fiscal transaction records and files. Resolve issues with suppliers and central offices as needed. Provide procurement, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis support for PMR within COM and FGP. Work with the Department Administrator to support clinical operations with budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis. Perform revenue and expense analyses; identify opportunities for cost reductions. Prepare variance analyses, financial reconciliations, and fiscal projections. Gather information for internal and external data requests. Coordinate with COM Service Center staff to facilitate procurement, travel, and other financial transactions. Analyze and interpret University policies related to fiscal expenditures; advise managers and implement improvements to internal controls and compliance. Provide systems approval for compliant fiscal expenditures for PMR. Assist auditors by gathering documentation and answering questions; maintain departmental records. Collaborate with the Department Administrator and PMR staff on projects; represent PMR to COM, central university, medical center, and LLC offices. Coordinate and oversee physician credentialing, faculty promotion/tenure processes, and managed care credentialing and re-credentialing. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required; 2-4 years preferred. Additional Information
