Position Overview We’re seeking a technically adept and strategically minded IT Lead to oversee and evolve our IT functions within a defense-oriented environment. This high-impact role will guide infrastructure growth, cybersecurity posture, and operational excellence across a dynamic, multi-site organization. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in secure systems design, air-gapped network environments, —balancing hands-on execution with long-term vision. As we expand, the IT Lead will play a pivotal role in integrating new facilities, optimizing internal systems, while maintaining compliance with federal and DoD standards.

Translate organizational goals into technical roadmaps and daily execution plans

Serve as senior escalation point for infrastructure, cybersecurity, and systems issues

Architect and deploy secure, scalable networks—including air-gapped environments—for new buildings and facility expansions

Oversee hardware/software provisioning, system integrations, and connectivity across classified and unclassified domains

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support audit readiness for classified systems

Manage and evolve internal ticketing systems to align tactical tasks with strategic priorities

Monitor system performance, uptime, and service delivery metrics across secure enclaves

Identify opportunities for automation, modernization, and workflow efficiency

Serve as the Unit Software License Manager (USLM), overseeing license procurement, allocation, renewal and compliance with DoD and Air Force software management policies

Development and implementation of local policies, procedures and performance management

Create project budgets , track spend and forecast future needs and refreshes across tools, licenses and equipment

Develop multi-year roadmap for internal and external networks, as mission dictates

Minimum Qualifications 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field

7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or cybersecurity

3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role

Proven expertise in network architecture, system integration, and security operations

Experience managing ticketing platforms (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, or similar)

Hands-on experience with air-gapped networks and secure system deployments

Strong communication and documentation skills

Familiar with virtualization, Linux and Windows environments

Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain and maintain and TS/SCI security clearance with enhanced security checks relevant progressive experience.

Preferred Requirements Master’s degree or certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, or ITIL

Experience in defense, intelligence, or government IT environments

Familiarity with hybrid cloud infrastructure (Azure Gov, AWS GovCloud)

Background in scaling IT operations during organizational growth

Experience with COMSEC equipment and processes

Physical Requirements Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
