Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions, deal courteously and effectively with the public; multi-task; plan, organize and prioritize tasks according to schedules; work independently; understand and teach pertinent University policies to staff.
Job Duties Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Dept. of Naval Science (NROTC). Perform all administrative tasks associated with efficient office management to include correspondence, computer data, reports, files, schedules, calendars. Manage budget and related fiscal matters. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job DutyInitiates, maintains, terminates all HR, Vehicle Management, and Information Technology paperwork, files, and accounts for continually changing staff of approximately 10 military employees and one tutor. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job DutyFacilitate communications and public relations between NROTC and high level military and University officials, the general public, and others whose interests and activities bring them in contact with the mission of the CO. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job DutyAssist in special projects such as commissioning ceremonies, student activities, Tri-Service. Share general maintenance and repair issues of 513 Pickens with two other departments (Military Science and Aerospace Studies). Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job DutyContribute to the overall success of the College of Arts and Sciences by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 2 Job DutyProvide assistance and guidance to the Department of Naval Sciences to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university policies and procedures. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 3 Job DutyPerform duties as assigned for Military and Veterans Services unit. Duties could include but are not limited to, affiliate transactions, invoices, HR transactions and program/event participation and planning. Coordinate support from campus resources and outside organization for the Department of Military Science activities which include – Commissioning Ceremonies, ROTC Award Ceremonies, Military Balls, temporary VIP parking and other events; Prepare and send invitations for important events; Process and distribute official mail; Routinely respond to short suspense deadlines from Army and other government agencies.
