DBA – Sybase & MS SQL

Direct Responsibilities 1. Responsible for installation, configuration, and managing the database (Sybase) servers and applying the security patches. SYBASE ASE & SYBASE IQ. 2. Remediating the vulnerabilities and database performance tuning. 3. Provide and maintain high availability (Clustering) and BCP/DR Recovery database solutions. 4. Develop ITIP Information Management Dashboards including risk analysis and current projects for different functions/clients. 5. Establish excellent working relationships with different functions across various regions. 6. Ensure rigorous follow-up and communication to stakeholders on estimated delivery timelines of projects. 7. Analytical mindset in troubleshooting and resolving database problems. 8. Good understanding of Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. 9. Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models. Contributing Responsibilities 1. Develop, assess, and select proper strategy for projects considering performance, cost, time, and scope constraints. 2. Follow up and close on all risk items identified by IG Audit or any other internal and external audits. Technical & Behavioral Competencies 1. Sybase DBA with experience on Linux; PostgreSQL knowledge is desirable. Good knowledge in performance tuning and Sybase IQ will be an added advantage. 2. Working experience on Cloud is desirable.
